Walk 'n Rock!

(I don't mean to bombarde you with two posts within one week but I think you can handle it).

Today was the Rock 'n Walk charity 5K at Raley Field in West Sacramento. Back in 2006 I got involved with an awesome summer camp called WAVE Camp as a nursing assistant. The next year I became the "Camp Nurse" and I have been involved with the camp since then. I also participate in Camp COOL, it's winter counterpart. All of these programs are funded through the Access Leisure program through the City of Sacramento. Because of the economy these camps lost a majority of their funding. Thus, the participation in the Walk 'n Rock event! It was a awesome morning filled with a walk through downtown Sacramento and fun booths back at Raley Field. Lots of the campers came out to walk and it was great to see them! Hubby and I even recruited his mom, sister and nephew to walk with us!

30 weeks...

Sorry for being MIA for more than a month. Things have been busy around here. Thought I'd give a quick little update though! Today marks a milestone of sorts, 30 weeks! In pregnancy weeks that seems like forever! We had an OB appointment today and everything is looking wonderful! I gained no weight this month (although it definitely does not look or feel like it) and the doctor said we were both doing excellent. Our little girl is currently breech with her head just below my ribs, but as the doc said, that could change by tomorrow. I can now see movement from the outside of my belly which is totally crazy, something like alien vs. predator. I started going to a prenatal yoga class and our child birthing classes start next week... the preparation has begun! We still have nothing done to the "nursery" but hopefully that will change this weekend! All of this is starting to seem very real and I can't believe I'll actually be a mom soon!
